A 25-year-old Ohio basketball player, Brendan Paul, was arrested on Monday, March 25, 2024 at a Miami airport on drug charges. He and rap mogul Diddy were attempting to board a private jet when they were stopped by federal agents.
Paul has been accused of being a "drug mule" for Diddy in a federal lawsuit and is facing one count of possession of cocaine and marijuana candy, both felonies in Florida.
According to the arrest report obtained by The Post, Paul lives with his parents in a $829,000 four-bedroom home in Chagrin Falls near Cleveland. He attended a private boarding school in New England before transferring to a private day school in Ohio for his senior year of high school. He then went on to attend Syracuse University before ultimately playing Division I basketball for two years at Fairmont State University.
During the pandemic, Paul began working as an amateur music producer and eventually collaborated with Diddy on The Love Album, which was released in September. Social media posts show him in the studio with Diddy and at the album release party.
After Paul's arrest, Diddy was seen pacing outside the airport in distress. Homeland Security agents also conducted raids on Diddy's Beverly Hills and Miami homes where they seized computer equipment and other evidence.
The raids were part of a federal sex-trafficking investigation. Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs, has denied all allegations against him. In a statement released by his lawyer Aaron Dyer on Tuesday, he referred to the situation as a "witch hunt" and expressed concern for the use of military-level force during the search warrants at Combs' residences. The attorney also stated that there were concerns about how authorities treated Combs' children and employees during the raids.
