Inmates at the Kershaw Correctional Institution in South Carolina are speaking out about the continued mistreatment and inhumane conditions they face. Despite ongoing efforts to call for change, such as a prisoner work strike and demands for intervention from the United Nations, little has improved since a groundbreaking civil rights case in 2016. Reports indicate that prisoners are being deprived of sunlight, fresh air, and basic human rights while facing torture and punishments at the hands of corrupt prison officials. This is an urgent issue that requires immediate attention and action from those with the power to make a change. A prisoner has reached out to us, shedding light on the troubling conditions within the prison walls.
