The rapper was killed in Memphis at Makeda's Homemade Butter Cookies, a bakery he frequented, sparking an outpouring of grief from hundreds who gathered at the intersection of Joy Lane and Airways Boulevard. Witnesses shared photos on social media, including one of the rapper's camouflaged Corvette parked outside the bakery. Rumors had been circulating on social media about potential connections to other shootings involving Memphis rappers and possible retaliation efforts. Police looked into any leads or persons of interest related to the shooting.
